The designer of the costumes used in The dark knight was Lindy Hemming. The batsuit that Christian Bale wore was designed with elastic bands that assisted in binding the dark knight batsuit closer to his body. The batsuit had a more complex look than the suit that Bale wore in Batman Begins. The elements found in the make up of the batsuit are metallic mesh, rubber, nylon, and fiberglass. The hood over Batman’s head features white lenses to cover the eyes designed for when the sonar detection is activated. The costume weighed eight pounds. Batman can easily destroy an object by crushing them with the hydraulic gloves. Bale said that his costume in The Dark Knight was easier and cooler to wear than the suit in Batman Begins.
