Training software for network security

September 15th, 2008 | by admin |

WebGoat is a deliberately insecure J2EE web application designed to teach web application security lessons. Web visitors using Internet Explorer have spyware and trojans installed on their computers, and regardless of name, virus, worm, trojan, or spyware, any of these examples of malicious software, henceforth referred to collectively as malware, are undesirable additions to our computers. Web-based botnets introduce a few key improvements over IRC-based botnets, and most importantly, any communications between the controlling Web site and the hacked PCs looks like ordinary Web traffic, and so tend to be let in and out of network firewalls without raising alarms.
