Many of these federal FAFSA loans are provided by private companies. This association is a part of the FFEL or Federal Family Education Loan program. To avail these loans you have to fill up a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application. You have to be a citizen of the United States of America to avail these loans. You need to provide a proof like a Social Security Number. If you are not a citizen you have to present a valid alien registration card.
